Welcome Video

Greetings! I'm Justin Kirklin. I have a beautiful wife named Julie, and three kids, Eli, Emily, and Ethan. Julie and I met in our home state of Michigan and attended Ferris State University together. We were both introduced to Casas por Cristo through our campus ministry and fell in love with Casas. We married in 2008. In 2009, we accepted a position with the ministry and moved to El Paso to start our wonderful ministry together with the rest of the Casas staff. After spending 2014 to 2018 launching our Dominican Republic location, we are now back in El Paso, TX serving in our main office. We look forward to our continued service and ministry to our teams and the families we minister to!

Welcome Video

Hello there! We are the DeLongs and had our first child, Brantley, in June 2018! We both came to love missions, and ministry in general, from a young age. I (Kiersten) went on my first mission trip when I was 15 years old, and while it was not a Casas trip, it was the first time I had heard about Casas. Spencer was 16 when he went on his first build with Casas in Juárez. A few years later, Spencer and I found ourselves studying ministry at Lincoln Christian University where we graduated with degrees in Youth/Preaching and Missions. Since then, we have served in youth ministry in Illinois and were able to lead a trip to Juárez in 2014. Most recently, we’ve been working for Lincoln Christian University and got to lead a group of college students to Guatemala in 2018. Thus, when we received the opportunity to join the Casas team full-time, we could not say no. We are always excited to see the way that God is moving among His people. To be a part of the Casas team and partner with both the local and global Church to create more opportunities for the Gospel to be shared is something that seems to bring our experiences, callings, and passions together in a pretty perfect way. We are excited to see what is to come in the years ahead.

I knew I had to return to this city. Over the next 5 years, I was able to be a part of more than 10 builds in the city of Juárez. I graduated from Full Sail University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Show Production and Concert Touring where my love for videography came about, and now I get to use those talents for Casas. Welcome Video

I know no other life outside of the ministry. My parents served as missionaries with Colegio Biblico in Eagle Pass, TX / Piedras Negras, MX for 37 years. I studied Youth and Pastoral Ministry at Dallas Christian College and New Testament Preaching at Johnson Bible College. I have served on staff at the Christian Church of Midland, TX, First Christian Church in Weslaco, TX, and Raintree Christian Church in Lubbock, TX. Somewhere along the way, I met, fell in love with, and married my wife of over 20 years, Rio, and witnessed the birth of our beautiful daughter, Taylor. After serving on the board at Casas por Cristo for a couple of years, I came on staff as the Executive Director in 2005. I have never felt more at home than I do here. This is what God has been preparing me for my entire life. I love being able to present the gospel to people in a real and tangible way. I love being able to connect regular church folks with regular families in foreign countries and let them see that they are both children of the King. If I'm not here doing something with Casas or remodeling something at my house, you'll find me at some camp ground. Our family loves to camp. Any time I can string a couple of days together you'll find my wife and I pulling our trailer to some state or national park and getting away from it all. The staff here insists that in my retirement I am going to be a tour guide at some park.

Hey there! My name is Mike McCabe, and I’m from Troy, MI. I went on my first Casas trip to the Dominican Republic in May 2016 and have had the blessing of being able to participate in five builds since then. Three of the builds have been in the Dominican, and the other two have been in Juárez. I love Jesus, and I love working with my hands, so I figured this would be a great way to combine two of my passions. My first trip had a huge impact on my life. It was the first time I had seen strangers who didn’t speak the same language coming together as brothers and sisters in Christ. I am excited to see what God has in store for me.

Welcome Video

Hi! I'm Brendan Noerper, and I am from Millstadt, Illinois. My first mission trip was in 2015 when my youth group and I came to Acuña, México to build two homes with Casas. That trip opened my eyes to missions and the impact it has on the world. A year and a half later, I joined a team from a church in Illinois who was building a home in the Dominican Republic over the New Year. During that trip, I decided that I was ready to apply to be an intern for Casas. I had the privilege of interning for Casas in Acuña during the summer of 2017. It changed my life, and I cannot begin to describe the work God has done. Upon returning home, I decided to apply to be full time staff with Casas and spent 18 months in the El Paso/Juárez location as a field coordinator after getting hired. I moved to the Acuna department in August of 2019 to serve there as a field coordinator. There's no doubt God is using me for his glory. This journey is amazing, and God is doing great things.

Hi, I'm Lindsay. I grew up in Indiana and first served with Casas in 2007 with my home church. I was able to attend four Casas trips before moving to Colorado to finish school. I completed my degree in Nonprofit Management and after graduating, I worked as a Volunteer Coordinator and Grant Writer for a nonprofit in downtown Denver. I worked there for almost two years until I felt God had been telling me that something new was on the horizon. Through an eye-opening, unexpected series of events, He had very specifically been laying Casas on my heart. One thing led to another, and I was so excited to join the Casas team. It is so incredible to see how God works in each of our lives to bring glory to His name, and I look forward to what He has in store through the ministry of Casas.

Hi, I’m Emily. I just finished my bachelor’s degree in Sociology at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. I have lived in Colorado my whole life, but I absolutely love traveling and meeting people of different cultures. I currently still live at home with my parents, five siblings, a dog, a turtle, a rabbit, and four chickens. I became a Christian at the age of 10. I grew up surrounded by amazing people who dedicated their lives to the Lord and service of Him. I recognized my need for a Savior and asked Jesus to be the Lord of my life. I have been on nine Casas trips with my church, Vista Grande Baptist Church. My love for the work that Casas does is what really got me interested in the internship. I wanted the opportunity to work with and support the Casas staff, and I am so excited to see how God uses me during my summer as an intern. I can’t wait to share the love of Christ with everyone I encounter.

Hi, I'm Nathan. I have had a passion for missions ever since my first trip with Casas in Acuna, Mexico. I have always desired to serve others in any way possible even before I fully surrendered my life to Christ, and now it's grown into a deeper desire for people to experience the love Christ has for them. I enjoy getting to know how each person fits in the body of Christ and love to hear the unique story God has given each one of us.

Hi, I'm Sadie. To be honest, my first choice for the summer was an internship at a nearby hospital as a student nurse. After being rejected from two of them and learning my roommates were both moving out, I had to rethink my summer plans because staying in town was clearly not in God’s playbook for me. A month later I was sitting in chapel, and a group got up and started presenting about their trip with Casas por Cristo in January. I became overwhelmed with emotion, had goosebumps, and immediately knew this was His plan for my summer. I submitted my application the next day, tracked down some references/friends who have also been interns, and here I am! I attend the University of Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, SD and will have completed my junior year before beginning this internship. I have four baby sisters that I adore with everything in me and two perfect parents (you laugh, but really you should meet them). I’m ready to do whatever I can to help anyone who is willing to receive it.

Hi everyone! My name is Cayla Kiehl. I am originally from Missouri where I was born and raised. I graduated from the University of Missouri in December 2020. I went on my first trip with Casas in the summer of 2018. Soon after, I felt God leading me towards pursuing missions with Casas further. I spent the next two summers as an intern, first building homes in Juárez, then working in their finance department in El Paso where I met my husband, Justin. Most recently, I was able to serve in the Admin department through Casas' residency program before joining staff in September 2021 as a Finance & Store Coordinator. God has been actively working on my heart through Casas and the city of El Paso, and I am excited to be serving in God’s Kingdom and loving His people however He calls me to!

Welcome Video

Hello! My name is Nan Hammel, and I’m originally from northern Indiana. I graduated from Purdue University and worked in soil and water conservation and as a high school track and cross country coach for eight years. I first got involved with Casas por Cristo in 2015 taking trips to Guatemala with Bachelor Creek, my hometown church of Wabash, Indiana. In 2019, I joined a Team Casas build in Guatemala and God spoke to my heart. He was not only using this ministry to spread the gospel to people through the local church with the blessing of a home but also using it to build and equip his people, the church, to seek His kingdom wherever they live and serve (Ephesians 2:19-22). Over the summer of 2019, I worked as an intern in Juárez. I have been so blessed by all the people I have come to know through this ministry - pastors, families, groups, staff, and fellow interns. They are truly family to me. I felt God’s call to apply as a Field Coordinator with Casas por Cristo and am excited to serve as a part of the team in the Dominican Republic!

Welcome Video

Hi, my name is Michael Vo. I interned with Casas in the summer of 2016. I told myself I was going to come back for a second internship, but I ended up going home and getting involved with my home church's youth group! I served as a small group leader for middle school boys. I felt like I was needed at the church, so I decided to stay home and not return for another internship with Casas. I played college baseball for a year and a half, and while that was going on our youth pastor left, and the youth group fell through. Not knowing which direction to take, I spent a lot of time in prayer and community. At the same time, Casas por Cristo kept appearing in the back of my mind. I realized that from the time of my first internship until now, I was ignoring God's call. I can tell you now with confidence that I am here to serve this organization with all of me!

Hi, my name is Derek Pruitt. I am from a small town in Missouri called Holts Summit. I grew up with six siblings and was homeschooled until my sophomore year of high school. I am a sophomore at a small community college. I am just getting my Gen Eds there, and then I plan on transferring to a four-year college to major in Criminal Justice with a minor in Bible. I have yet to decide where I am going to transfer. I plan on letting God lead me to where he wants me when the time comes. When I was in high school, I went on my first Casas trip. I loved it right off the bat, but I had never considered doing the internship. I have been on an additional six trips since then. Last summer, I got a chance to talk with some of the interns about their experience. From there, I decided I wanted to try it. I am excited for this summer and what God has in store.
