Meet the pastor sponsoring this family
Juan Vazquez Rojas
Pastor of: Leon De Juda
Hello, my name is Juan Vazquez and my wife, Leti, and I have been the pastors at our church León de de Juda (Lion of Judah) for nine years. It is a place where we preach the Word of God and we serve everyone who wants to know God more. In the future, we want to have a food pantry at our church for those in need. It’s also our dream to build rooms that groups from Casas por Cristo can stay in while they’re in Mexico. God bless you all!

Welcome Video
Hi! My name is Chris Summerlot. I am a carpenter from Indianapolis, Indiana. During my first trip with Casas por Cristo in 2008, I fell in love with it immediately and applied for an internship in 2009. Instead of the internship, God had other plans for me like growing spiritually and starting a family with my beautiful bride, Becky, and our two sons, Matthew and Jonathan. In 2019, after going on multiple builds in Juárez, Acuña, and San Raymundo, organizing three Casas trips for my home church, and leading two builds as a Casas volunteer, God finally opened the door for me to work full-time at Casas. I love Casas because it mirrors the Gospel message by giving the free gift of a home, just like the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. I am excited to use my God-given gifts to further His Kingdom with Casas por Cristo.

Welcome Video
I was first introduced to Casas por Cristo in 2001 when I came on a trip with my home church from Colorado Springs to build a home for a family in Juárez, México. After experiencing firsthand the poverty of México and seeing the need for the gospel, I followed God’s call on my life by becoming an intern. After completing 3 internships, I felt God leading me to come on staff full-time in 2003. I met Leanne at Casas, and we married in August of 2003. Leanne continued to serve as a Team Coordinator until the birth of our first child. Currently, my wife and I have nine children - Aurora, Ethan, Silas, Eli, Landon, Elliana, Israel, Ezequiel, and Courage. My current responsibilities include building with teams in Juárez and Acuña, México and San Raymundo, Guatemala, as well as printing shirts and managing the Casas store. Leanne stays busy caring for our growing family and homeschooling our children. We are excited and thankful for the opportunity to use our lives to serve God through this ministry.
