Fundraising is one of the biggest obstacles to missionary longevity, and having a strong endowment fund helps us maintain a quality candidate pool. By giving to the endowment fund, you are securing the long-term outlook of quality staff.

1. Designated Cash Gift: You can donate online or send a check by mail. If you give online, select “Missionary Support Endowment Fund” from the program area. Make checks payable to Casas por Cristo with a designation in the memo line of “Missionary Support Endowment Fund” and mail to Casas por Cristo, PO BOX 971070, El Paso, TX 79997.
2. Stocks, Bonds, or Real Estate: Donating appreciated securities and property can provide tax benefits and support our mission. Please call our office at 915.778.0046 and ask for someone on our finance team for assistance.
3. Bequests: Including Casas por Cristo in your will or trust. This is a simple and flexible way to support our mission. Sample Bequest Language: “I hereby give, devise, and bequeath [$_____/_____% of my estate / the residue of my estate] to Casas por Cristo, a nonprofit organization located at 7201 North Loop Dr., El Paso, TX 79915, for it general charitable purposes.
4. Beneficiary Designations: Name Casas por Cristo as a beneficiary of your retirement account, life insurance policy, or other financial accounts.
5. Qualified Charitable Distribution: A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) is a distribution of funds from your IRA (other than a SEP or SIMPLE IRA) directly to a qualified charitable organization, such as Casas por Cristo. Because the gift goes directly to the charity without passing through your hands, the dollar amount of the gift may be excluded from your taxable income up to a maximum of $100,000 annually, with some exceptions. Please consult your tax advisor for information regarding your specific exceptions.
   • Who Can Make Qualified Charitable Distributions? QCDs can be made by IRA owners who are age 70 1/2 or older. QCDs made prior to the age you are required to take a minimum distribution from your retirement assets (pre-Required Minimum Distribution QCDs) will not reduce or otherwise impact future Required Minimum Distributions. Your tax advisor can provide additional information on your particular situation.
   • How do I make a Qualified Charitable Distribution? Your QCD must be made directly from your IRA custodian to Casas por Cristo on your behalf. Each financial institution has its own process for initiating a qualified charitable distribution. Account holders can sometimes find it challenging to access the right information.
