We understand that making the decision whether or not to schedule a trip with us right now is complicated and can be difficult, especially with the ever-changing restrictions on travel and Covid testing, and we want to provide you with every available option to keep you connected with our ministry during this time. Whether that be in person on your group trip, joining one of our Team Casas builds, or supporting us from home by donating to our Hope Restored campaign, we desire to make the process as seamless as possible for you!
We respect whatever decision you make, but if you are considering joining one of our builds in person to one of our foreign locations and have concerns about the process, here’s some feedback we got from one of our first teams to visit Guatemala this year!
“We scheduled our build for 2021 shortly after we returned in February 2020 from building in Guatemala. We love Casas por Cristo and serving with the team in Guatemala. The hope that it brings to the families that receive a home is so beautiful to witness.
There have been many changes since we began recruiting our team and planning our trip in September, but the big one came just a few weeks before we were to leave when the travel guidelines changed again. We had to be tested for Covid before traveling to Guatemala and before we could return to the US. After much prayer and consideration, our team of 14 decided to step out in faith and move forward. We had faith God would see us through if it was His plan for us to go. Everything went very well. Travel through the airports and in San Raymundo was very easy and felt safe. The testing site was very professional, clean, and up to date. If you are considering serving with Casas por Cristo this year, I would highly recommend it. We are so grateful we didn’t let fear hold us back.”
