Meet the pastor sponsoring this family

David Quinones
Pastor of: Iglesia Rios de Agua Viva

Hello, my name is David Quiñones. I have been working with Casas por Cristo for fifteen years. I was born and raised in Juárez, México. I am married to Delia Alvarez, and we have two beautiful sons, David Jr. and Irvin. I began my work with Casas in February 2004 in Juárez. Due to the violence that occurred there, we decided in March 2009 to continue serving the Lord full time with Casas in Acuña, México. It has been a big challenge for our family because this is the first time we have ever moved away from Juárez. Through his grace, God has taught me to serve others. It is my privilege to serve God at Casas. Being a missionary allows me to work with my hands and teach others as we build homes. It is my responsibility to make preparations for our volunteer groups, to be attentive to their needs while they are here, to visit families before and after construction, to host the monthly pastors meetings, and to keep the central warehouse and its tools in order. In addition, I sometimes sponsor families to receive homes through my church, Iglesia Rios de Agua Viva (Rivers of Living Water Church).

Welcome Video

Hi! I'm Brendan Noerper, and I am from Millstadt, Illinois. My first mission trip was in 2015 when my youth group and I came to Acuña, México to build two homes with Casas. That trip opened my eyes to missions and the impact it has on the world. A year and a half later, I joined a team from a church in Illinois who was building a home in the Dominican Republic over the New Year. During that trip, I decided that I was ready to apply to be an intern for Casas. I had the privilege of interning for Casas in Acuña during the summer of 2017. It changed my life, and I cannot begin to describe the work God has done. Upon returning home, I decided to apply to be full time staff with Casas and spent 18 months in the El Paso/Juárez location as a field coordinator after getting hired. I moved to the Acuna department in August of 2019 to serve there as a field coordinator. There's no doubt God is using me for his glory. This journey is amazing, and God is doing great things.

Hello! My Name is Carla Walquist, and I am from Little Falls, Minnesota. I currently attend the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota. My first trip with Casas was in January through my school and a local church. It was the first trip I had ever taken that was service-based. It was such an amazing experience, and I loved every bit of it. I have since decided to step out of my comfort zone and intern with Casas. I couldn’t be more excited to continue touching lives and serving others with this amazing ministry. I cannot wait to see what Christ does in my life during this experience.
