Hey, I’m Madi! I grew up in Edmond, OK and graduated from Oklahoma State University in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies and a minor in Spanish. I am currently working on earning my Master's in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. I’ve been on builds since 2011 and have served previously in two internships - one in Guatemala in 2018 and one in Juarez in 2020. Now, I am serving with Casas por Cristo as a Field Coordinator. I am so blessed to be a part of what God is doing in Mexico through the ministry of Casas por Cristo. It is profound to be a part of His missional movement in the world, and to be able to combine my two great passions (Christ and Latin America) is a dream come true.

I am here in El Paso, building houses for families in Juarez with Casas por Cristo simply because I love it. Nothing compares to the feeling that you get after working all week, knowing that God has blessed a family through your words, efforts, and motivation. There is no other way I would like to spend my summer other than building houses because of Christ, while having and impact on families and being able to show them God’s love through these houses. This whole experience has impacted me greatly, making me realize that all I want to do is to fulfill my purpose which is to spread and share the love of Jesus Christ.

Hi, y’all! My name is Rebecca Thompson, and I am originally from Macon, Georgia. I called Fort Worth, Texas, home for four years while earning my Bachelor’s degree from TCU, where I was first introduced to Casas por Cristo. After my first mission trip with Casas in March 2020, I knew that God was calling me to serve here for a longer period of time. I began my journey at Casas as a Team Coordinating Resident, planning to only stay around for a year before returning to school for my Master's degree. But God took hold of my heart and told me I wasn't done at Casas yet, which is how I ended up on the Development Team. I'm so blessed to be able to use my gifts to serve a ministry I love so dearly, and I can't wait to see how God continues to use Casas to impact our team members' lives and the families we build for!

Hilda Torres Ramos
Pastor of: Jehova Shama
Hello, my name is Hilda Torres Ramos and I am the pastor at Jehova Shama. I have been in ministry for 21 years, and I am so thankful to God for allowing me to serve my community for all of these years. This year, God allowed us to start a ministry helping the children and adolescents in our church, which has been a dream of ours since the beginning. We help them with their school work and also talk to them about Jesus. Our goals are to continue to bless our community, share the love of Christ with them, and change eternities by working with Casas por Cristo.

Hi, my name is Michael Vo. I interned with Casas in the summer of 2016. I told myself I was going to come back for a second internship, but I ended up going home and getting involved with my home church's youth group! I served as a small group leader for middle school boys. I felt like I was needed at the church, so I decided to stay home and not return for another internship with Casas. I played college baseball for a year and a half, and while that was going on our youth pastor left, and the youth group fell through. Not knowing which direction to take, I spent a lot of time in prayer and community. At the same time, Casas por Cristo kept appearing in the back of my mind. I realized that from the time of my first internship until now, I was ignoring God's call. I can tell you now with confidence that I am here to serve this organization with all of me!

Hi! my name is Angela Rodriguez. I originally grew up and Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico and I am currently attending Texas A&M University in college station for the completion of a bachelor's in Architecture. My desire is to serve God and to grow in my faith so that he can make me more like Jesus as I challenge myself and find a Christian community for support. For that reason, I seek to find opportunities to serve God so that he may guide and lead me to the plans he has for me so that I can have the privilege of using my career for his ministry. That is why I joined this internship with Casas Por Cristo which for me not only means a great opportunity to grow but also a challenge that I must overcome alongside Christ. I'm very excited to get to know new people and work alongside them as we help each other carry each other's burdens and build relationships that may last a lifetime centered on the love of Chirst.
