We recently visited the Culajay Family after building them a home earlier this year. Brenda, the mother, shared, “When the team was building, a woman named Katherine played with my daughter, Emeli, the entire time. Emeli says that is her best friend forever.”
Brenda was pregnant at the time of the build. When the new baby came, Emeli insisted that the new baby’s name should be Katherine, after her best friend. So they all agreed and named their new baby Katherine.
When you come to build and serve, you will probably hear us say that we are not there to simply build a house. We are there to build relationships and show God’s love. What a perfect example of the impact made beyond the house! This family’s lives are forever changed, and baby Katherine, whose name was inspired by someone who took the time to love them that week, will be a constant reminder of just that.
